| CDAA Celebration 2006 - Class Testimonial
"I would like to take the time right now to let everyone know about the most wonderful class that I took at this year’s CDAA conference in Fort Erie. The class was Creative Costuming with Adele Sciortino and it really got my creative juices flowing! Adele had us choose our least favourite colour and utilizing the colour wheel, select colours to compliment it. She demonstrated the draping and styling of a costume right on a mannequin with our fashion fabrics, and using little more than paper towels and pins creating a “pattern” for garments that would really fit. During the lunch break she gave us a slide presentation of her work under development and we saw that she does indeed use this technique to create her wonderful masterpieces! Armed with confidence and infused with her creativity the entire class went on to costume their mannequins beautifully in their own “designer originals”! A fashion show featuring the work of the whole class was presented to the entire assembly and was definitely a highlight of the evening! When I hear of another class offered by this talented doll maker and “fashion” designer, I will be amongst the first in line to register!" Peggy Wilson, Artist/Teacher |
